| There are a lot of this chaffinch (Buchfink, Fringilla coelebs) in our garden and this one was quite curious what I was doung there. |

Beautiful picture. You know, taking pictures in nature is sort of like tracing a Van Gogh -- we're sort of taking credit for beauty that we didn't create!
What I really like about the picture, believe it or not, is the way the stone ledge cuts diagnoally across the picture. I think the way it slopes down gives the picture some movement, and helps me to see the bird walking along that hard gray edge.
What I don't like about the picture is the focus (I also notice that the picture quality seems to be really grainy -- is that because of a low-resolution picture file or because the entire picture was out of focus?). I think the bird would stand out a lot more if all of the greenery in the background were completely out of focus, and if the bird were crisply focused.
All in all, I really like the picture. I don't even know anything about birds, but I can see a lot of beauty in this animal.
