[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Update - Steve Pryor (cuckooroller) was kind enough to leave me the name of this little guy. It is Golden-eared Tanager - adult male. Thanks Steve!

Dont know the name of this little guy. Shot this pic in the butterfly museum in Key West. I was photographing butterflies and then turned up and saw this little guy watching me intently - so I returned the favour :)
Can anyone help me identify what bird this is?
Shot this in my "preRAW" days so post processing was very limited

I can just tell you it is some species of New World Tanager, probably a south American species.

Hi Liezl
Excellent capture of this beautiful bird. Sorry, no idea about the ID, but I do believe Chris is right with the Tanager lead. I sure hope someone can help you.
Your composition is great (however, in my opinion, you could have given a little more space on the left to provide the bird some space to look into). The colours are stunning. The DOF is spot-on and it captured the incredible details of the bird. The BG is super and the exposure was perfectly managed.
Great work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Bonjour Liezel,
C'est un bien bel oiseau que tu nous présentes là. Probablement que quelqu'un pourra t'en donner le nom. Belle netteté bien que la mise au point pouvait se faire légèrement plus en arrière. Ceci n'en est pas moins une belle image. Merci.

Nice photo of this unknown bird. I will create a discussion for a little thought on the bird.
