For me Spring starts when gates of Botanical Garden are opened. First of April. I took my camera, bought all-season ticket and went to see how The Garden looks like after long and hard winter. First I found few blue Crocuses growing in shadows of lindens. I took few photos of them, but probably I'll send them to TE - I read yesterday that now Crocuses are persona non grata on TN ;-) I turned to ponds of Nippon Gardens. They're still under ice. Few shy ducks did their own business, still no sign of Coots. Many dead fishes floated in water - killed probably by lack of air under ice. I found few more flowers, mostly yellow :-) Later I went to another part of The Garden and suddenly bunch of deers crossed my road. I counted three or four females and one young buck. Next meeting wasn't maybe very showy but also fruitfull - I met lazy toad sitting in the middle of my path. It was very good and polite model, so I took many pictures of it. I went to forest area then and found what I was looking for - fields of Snowdrops! I like this flowers ver much. Firstly - they're messengers of Spring [like Firebugs which I also saw, of course]. Secondly - they always look great on BG made by brown, dry leaves. Delicate white and green colours of petals are perfect in combination with brown leaves. So - my first post from Lodz's Botanic Garden - Snowdrops. Enjoy my picture, enjoy Spring and be ready for next part of tale :-)

Welcome to Spring Greg! How pretty it looks and there's no snow in the scene at all. Wonderful time for you up there now. This is nice and sharp, and a joy to hehold, thank you.
And what a super day you must have had at your Botanical Gardens wandering around looking for the signs of Spring.
The rain has arrived here overnight, so the earth is happy right now...

Hi Greg,
so beautiful - yes they are open now - and some of them already gone, it was "hot" yesterday. I already saw some bees collecting nectar at the snowdrops and the crocuses. Isn't it wonderful that the nice days are back?
Have a wonderful day, bye
