Hi!
i have just return from the National Park Cerna Valley-Domogled (all this are made in Musuroane Clearing).
***********************************************
Rana dalmatina (Agile Frog) (Amphibia: Ranidae)
is a widely spread species in western and central europe. in Romania is a common frog who overlaps with the other species of brown frog.
adults up to 9 cm, females bigger, a characteristic of species is the hind limbs long (heel extend beyond snout). This is the reason that this species can make very big leaps, also the reason for the name.
ussualy found in the woods even at distance of the water.
breeding sites are in still water, if posible close to woodlands. is an earlier breeder (even in february). Clumps of spwan containe 400-1800 eggs.
