[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is yet another photograph of the picturesque streambed of Bullock Creek at Punakaiki.
Bullock Creek winds through a deep limestone gorge in the foothills of the West Coasts Paparoa ranges. This part of the gorge was quite probably a huge cave at some point. We can tell this by the large number of huge limestone boulders deposited in the streambed, and the remnants of cave formations amongst them.
Not far from this spot I found some bus seats in the streambed that had been thrown down a bank from the road. Sadly, even in New Zealand, we have fools who dump their rubbish in such beautiful places as this. It took a lot of sweat for my friend and I to get the seats out of the gorge, but we did it at last.
Someone had to.
Hope you like this shot ... I know you will Greg :)

Yes Steve, I do! This looks like another postcard from Paradise! So dense, green forest, lovely stones full of mosses and stream... I think I could sit and enjoy this place all day long! Fantastic! I'm glad that you didn't posted it during our snowy winter - it would be suicidal photo for me ;-)))

Hi Steve,
a wonderful place to be, your country must be so beautiful, Nature is marvelous.
One hour ago I saw an interesting documentation on TV about NZ, the train going from the North to the South, I loved this film.
Thanks for this pretty shot, bye

Hi Steve,

Well I for one, am grateful to you for cleaning this spot up. It makes for a great photo. You really captured the feeling of the damp rain forrest. I live in a rain forest in Oregon. Our mossy greens are more yellow. Would you say that the greens in your photo are pretty accurate? I really like them.

TFS

Hi Steve. A very fine composition very much with a NZ flavour. It is similar to some of the tracks around Mt Taranaki (Mt Egmont in my days) with all that moss. Very good contribution. Murray.
