I was not sure if I should post this shot or not because I had problems with the composition so It may not be to somes liking. I wanted to keep the side view of the tree as well as the beach without facing the sun. As I moved round I lost the profile of the tree etc. Anyhow its posted.

This track to Lara beach or "Turtle Beach" is very difficult, and almost impossible, unless you are on motorbike or in a four-wheel drive. The road leads to one of the best beaches on the island, unspoiled and free of tourist trappings.

On the beach is a hatchery for the Logerhead Turtle. Here, turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, each one laying about 100 eggs in a hole dug in the sand. Eight weeks later the eggs hatch, but they must be protected from predators such as foxes and crows.

Very nice balance of the greenery ,sky and water. Just the top left portion of photo feels bit empty. Can be used to write some slogan to a make it a full fledged poster :)

I have also been here, but again: I didn't bring such a beautiful photo home. :) I understand what you mean about the difficulties composition-wise, but I like this photo a lot. I am glad you've posted it. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Very nice landscape my friend!

Hi Stephen,
Well worth posting in my opinion. I like the composition, I'm learning a lot from seeing what you do with these situations. Lovely detail throughout and good natural colours. I have a question though, I'm curious as my attempts at landscape are usually pretty naff :-) How did you come to select f/11? Is it something to do with the focal point of the composition?
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Steve,
Excellent view, I think the comp. works well enough..I think we are our own worst critic at times ;)
Lovely shot!

Hi Stephen

You can really tell where the predominant wind comes from. The tree really tells the story. I love the composition. Great landscape! :-)

Hi Stephan,
I think you did an excellent job with the light, and the composition.
Very beautiful scene. I would love to experience this in person. This look great!

Hi Stephen,

I've admired your wide angled landscapes taken with your 10-22mm lens. So I ordered one; except I got the Sigma. I hope I'll do half as well as you...well maybe a quarter as well!

This poor tree has not had an easy go of it. You captured that and the countryside as well. It may not be the best profile but I don't know that. It's an interesting, sharp, well exposed image..to me anyway.

Bonjour Stephen,
amazing site. Amazing colors and details. It's good that you worked to keep and use the perspective of the tree. That was my question before I read your note. Congratulations!

Hi Stephen,
very beautiful landscape with enourmous depth, very rich details and a powerfully accented dynamic composition.
Telling from the shape of the tree, Lara beach seems to be a very windy place - quite unusual for the Mediterranean.
Great shot. Thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Hi Stephen,
I have a very busy couple of days. But I can make just enough time for a quick visit to TN.
Great capture, thanks for posting. Have a great week.
