[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was going through my digital shoebox and found this photo. I think it is still TN worthy. This was on our way from Tacoma to the are of Rialto Beach on the east side of the National Forrest. I've been trying to figure out the name of this stream but could not find it on the map.

PP: I was, and still am, in doubt if the photo needed to be rotated a little. But since I wasn't sure I didn't do it. I added saturation and some contrast, hoping the dark part wouldn't become too dark and the sky wouldn't become to aqua colorich. I've tried severall settings on USM but did not get a good result. So I framed it and resized it and then did a little USM on it.

Hi Niek,

Good picture and PP work. A nice summer picture. Color are well balance. Too bad for the power lines in the background.

Wonderful landscape ! Composition and colors are great, particularly the water, it is so blue !
Valerie.

Hi Niek,

The foreground water, particularly on the right side, is lovely. I think the sky suffered a little from the contrast application but overall it is a nice, strong composition. It really pops out even as a thumbnail. I too have lots of pre TN shots that I cannot identify exact locations/names for.

I want to see some pictures from your new camera! You are not dancing hard enough...(sun dancing that is). I have the Canon 30D on order and should have it this week...aaaack! hope I am not getting in over my head!...I do know I am in over my budget! ...also have three lenses coming! I got a Sigma wide angle 10-22mm, a Canon IS 17-85mm and a monster Sigma 80-400 stablized! My husband insisted on that one and promised to carry it!

We postponed trip to see ManYee because of bad weather in California. We are leaving Friday for 10 days. Now they say the weather is supposed to be even worse!!I ...and me with a new camera to try out. Dang! : P

00:50AM, I'm really tired and my wife are waiting for me in bed, so sorry folks - proper critique next morning, now only well earned big green :-)

Hi Niek,
I don't think it looks to bad at all. A nice scene of full summer. I think your PP is pretty good here beautiful balanced scene.

Hi Niek,
A pleasant composition giving dominance to the bautiful little stream!
This a well composed image of a peaceful rural scenery, the only things reminding me there is a civilazation around the corner are the powerlines... They give a totally different feel to the image, compared to what it would be without... They are a part of reality, though...
Greetings,
Pablo -

very good

Hi,
I like the colours of water and the light!
Good composition and POV!
Thanks Ana:)

Ewww... power lines! I think the lighting in the picture is too washed out.. too bright in all places. I think this shot could've looked 10 times better in different light, like in the early morning or late evening.

Hi Niek
????*/@!! Fortunately critiquing is subjective that is why I can honestly say your photo is great. Power lines, possible rotation, aqua sky, contrast application, or whatever considered. I like it.
Maybe a lot of these issues lie within the different monitors, but on mine the colours, contrasts, sharpness, details, and brightness looks just perfect. Yes, without the power lines it would have a different look, but you took a travel shot of a scene and you presented it as it looks. The only thing I would agree on is what you yourself mentioned, namely the rotation. ± Two degrees to the right would have levelled out the trees on the right hand side (and also the power lines). The composition is fine and the DOF is spot-on.
Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Salut Niek
c'est un très joli paysage avec ce joli marécage,
la composition est jolie et les couleurs sont belles.La seule petite note négative c'est le BG avec les fils a haute tention.
Bravo et merci ....JP

I tend to agree with Pepe1782; those electric power lines do deprive the picture of its appeal. The light too seems to be of the kind to render the clouds almost invisible.

Very nice landscape shot. Colours are great. A bit of a shame about the powerlines though

Niek,

Well Composed with the river in the foreground. The colours and lighhting also good. TFS,
Sheriff
