Scientific Name - Garrulus glandarius

Status - Widespread resident throughout most of Britain, with numbers increased during periodic invasions of Continental birds

Habitat - Woodland, especially where oaks are present, but also large parks in urban areas.
Description - Colourful and distinctive when seen well. Often, due to it's shy and wary nature, all that is seen is the white rump and black tail as it flies away in characteristic bouncy fashion. Calls harsh and loud.

Size - 34 cm

Hello Lucian.
Very nice photo of this colourful bird. It looks as if it's posing just for you.
Great light and focus and wonderful colours of both the bird and leaves and background.
Maybe in my opinion there are too many branches in the picture. Anyway, very well done. Thanks for sharing.
Regards
Per
