[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I believe these to be Derbyshire Gritstone, a variety of sheep found in the Peak District of Derbyshire and Pennine Districts of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

I have been told that to be a "black sheep" only the face must be black, so in this case you have both a white sheep and a black sheep.

It is hard to say if they are wild or domesticated or farm animals for the classification purposes of this site. Some are kept inside large walled or fenced fields, while others roam free for all the year and are collected before winter, by using a sheep dog. The farmers identify them by the spray painted mark on them and/or a tag on the ear.

These two were out of any boundry and on the edge of a cliff. Many of the sheep I have seen in England though are within large fields with stone walls, while in Scotland I've only seen free roaming sheep. Getting close as I have here is highly discouraged during the lambing season in Spring.

Great composition Dan.
What a view, very good photo, with fantastic colours, but I don't know in which catagorie he falls in Country sides or by animals. Very good job you did.

Jolie photo de ces deux moutons se demandant qui est cet étrange personne qui nous fixe.
De belles couleurs et arrière plan composé de culture très intéressant.

I'm glad you weren't tempted to crop it. It's very nice. They look very inquisitive. I really like it, especially one white and one black. I've done a workshop just using NeatImage filter. It takes noise out but also has the effect of blurring the background which in this case brings your subject to the fore.

Would a UV filter help to get rid of the background haze?

Hi Dan
Nice Fg subjects and I like the fading BG. However, this is a picture that will work very well at f16 of smaller to get the whole beautiful BG in focus. Some fill flash on the black face would enhance the impact. I love the way the land frops off behind the sheep. Now this is a country landscape, with domesticated stock, (you have no feral sheep in UK) and I feel we need such a catogory.

A beautiful composition, Dan. Well framed. I like the clarity of the foreground and the depth of the background. Well done.
