Paeonia broteri Boissier & Reuter is a charming plant and is too seldom seen in gardens. The bowl-shaped flowers -one per stem- are pale pink shading to rose-purple at the edges, with yellow-green filaments and golden anthers; they are about 10 cm across. The dark green leaves are divided. Native to open woods in central, western and southern Spain and southern Portugal. Needs dappled or part-day shade. Often found on calcareous soil.

very beautiful flowers, looking very similar to the large and conspicuous Paeonia officinalis that I know growing wild in some Italian mountains. Perfectly focussed, very well composed, excellent colours. More than just well describing, your picture is a very very pretty donation of Spring.

Image is great, this flower is really spectacular and you image is great. Sharpness is very good and having the second flower in the background is adding lot.
There is a very similar specie growing in Israel where is it extremely rare - in one spot only - P. mascula
