A great macro shot , needs a bit of sharpness , well this is Tawny Coster and

Subfamily: Acraeinae
Genus: Acraea
Species: A. violae

U can have look of the same butterfly with a closed wing in my posting. Great pic welcome to the world of macro ;)

As pawan said it is indeed "Tawny Coster",Nice diagonal composition!! Congrats, looks like this guy has lost one of its antennae!!. The picture is sharp! and the colors are also good , the lighting is little harsh!

Very nice shot. Exposure and sharpness look fione to me. Next time I'd try and whatch out for bight objects in the BG. The white highlight detracts a little from the image.

Great to see this tawny coster from your garden. Great diagonal composition, good sharpness, though a little more DOF would have been useful to get that right wing in focus.
