[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Did you know there is a Viola species in this desert country?

Viola cinerea can grow upright or branch from the base and spread up to 10-15cm. The flowers are only 6-8mm across. The grayish-green leaves are 5-10mm broad and 8-20mm long, ovate to elliptic and covered with velvet like hair. In the UAE, V. cinera is found on gravel plains, rocky hillsides and wadis throughout the Hajar mountain range. Outside the UAE, V. cinerea spreads throughout Northern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, Western Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.

Viola cinerea is a tiny violet. Once I found a plant which was only 1cm tall and with several of 2-3mm seed capsules!

Yukiko,
What a very intersting plant. The flower looks a little like an Orchid. You've done a prety good job on the photo. The DOF and POV are perfect eventhough I would prefer a more smooth f/g. You could have done a better job on the exposure. A large part of the plant and the rock on the left have OE spots which cause to loose a lot of the attraction of the plant. Maybe you could have done something with the shutter speed or even better the aperture so that less light will enter the camera.

Niek
