[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
People call me as a dung fly, I know they don't love me so much, but I think that they underrate me. As you can see, I'm a skilled predator. This one is mine and I have no intent to have it snatched anybody!

This is a male yellow dung fly. I often see them on the leaves when they are resting in my garden. But this one had caught a fly, this is the first shoot dung fly with a prey for me. I know that the photo has no aesthetic, but the moment is interesting and I just want to share with you...

Note: Some little parts on the dark bg was cloned out.

Yellow dung fly:

Latin name: Scathophaga stercoraria

Size: Approximately 10mms long

Distribution: common

Months seen: April to October.

Food: The adults feed on small insects on the dung. The larvae feed on dung.

Habitat: Pasture. Anywhere with horse, cow or sheep dung.

Special features: The males have bright yellow furry bodies. The females are slightly more dull coloured.

In early spring yellow dung-flies congregate on dung to mate and lay eggs. Their larvae feed and develop inside the dung.

Nice photo, showing us the ways of nature... The weak die and the strong survive... A great moment. Nice sharp details and good colors. I'm glad you posted it.

Hello Ersin!
Very nice capture.I liked POV,colors, details and compositon are wonderful.TFS...:-)

Hello Ersin,
Great shot! I like pictures of that kind and I don't think I've ever seen a dung fly with prey.
Picture has very good details and ligthting. The use of flash gave a dark BG and gloomy mood that suits well here.
I like it!
VERY WELL DONE!
PS. I see you've changed your intro picture again ;-)
