...they won't see me!
The Iron Prominent, Notodonta dromedarius, is a large moth belonging to the family notodontidae. Like so many moths, it is rarely seen because it flies only at night and is very mimetic when at rest. Its French name is "le Chameau" (the Camel) because of the somewhat extravagant shape of its caterpillar.

Hallo Philippe, your contribution fits to a series of pictures of moths posted to TrekNature in the last days, underlining the diversity of wing colour patterns of this "night activists". Details are nice. In particular I want to mention the dfferent coloration of fore- and midleg 'hairs' which continues on the thorax and on the wings.

Hi Philippe,
What an excellent adaptation. My only nit to the white part above. It looks a bit unnatural.
Nice details and subject.
Nice work.

If I keep very quiet... and don't move at all, Philippe will take a really good photo of me! And you did too Philippe!

Good capture showing us this moth in daytime. His colours and patterns are nice and sharp, well done,
Janice
