UPPER KANANASKIS LAKE, ALBERTA, CANADA
They call this the Upper Kananaskis Lake, since there are two lakes with a dam in between. On the other side of the dam, the elevation drops about 100 feet to a second lake.

I took this photo around 1:00pm in the afternoon. The sun was high, one of the worst times to take a photo.
But the sun was at my back.

great scenery - I am amaxed at how far up that slpoe some of those trees have managed to survive given all that scree on the opposite side of the lake.

I really like the line of dead tree trunks leading into the water.

Janice, I like the composition, beautiful area, were you paddling or hiking? Any idea what the elevation is, at the lake level?

This is a wonderful landscape ! Excellent compsition and details. I particularly like those trees in the water, I would have liked to see what they looked like when they were still standing :-) These mountains are fantastic, and the blue color of water and sky is very beautiful. Well done !

Your series on UPPER KANANASKIS LAKE is wonderful and your notes also very instructives.
You took very nices photos with your C-50 and that means sometimes you dont need to have on hand a $$$$ camera to realise excellent pictures. Bravo, Janice.

JN.

Nicely framed Janice. I like the colours in the water too

For being in mid-day for this photo you did really well. I'm impressed with the grand scale of every scene I view from Canada, I really must visit sometime. I love the silvery log stumps in the water, they seem to match the grey stone in the mountains. The colors in this are well saturated, Very nicely exposed, well done.

Lovley place Janice. Well seen and taken.
