This is wonderful Adam, the bird and the flowers tone in perfectly together. I think the hummingbird oftern has blurred wings when posted herre - is it ever still? :)))) For one of your first shots I think you've done well - Bravo and welcome to TN...

Another great shot, Adam. : )
You are right: the matching colors between the flowers and the head of the hummer are stunning. I also like the match between the green body of the hummingbird and the green tones in the top part of the BG. Yet the bird itself is well isolated against the lilac lower BG. : )
The details throughtout are excellent: The focus on the sage is right on, and the blurred wings really give the feeling of the hovering.
Congratulations and TFS. : )

Hi Adam,

Wow, another great one. I suspect you were using Canon 100-400?? I have a Sigma 80-400 stabilized. I'll have to see what I can do with it. Ha...I think I'd better stick to stationary targets!

Have you had to adjust any of the color settings on your 30D? I find for exterior shots it is weakest on the deep reds and I have fussed with all the settings and can't come up with one that works.

Thanks for sharing your amazing photograph!

A great moment you captured Adam, with very nice details, colors and BG!!
TFS!!

Hello Adam,
Marvelous capture! I love the composition and details; the similar tones between the bird and the flowers.
Good job!!

Great shot, I really like the low DOF and the matching colors of the hummingbird and the plant. I suspect it would take some very fast shutter speeds to freeze these guys though? Any idea how fast would be required for them to look still? I did a workshop for you, hope you dont mind.
