this is a blue tit, one of the nicest birds to visit the garden, because of its acrobatic skils he does to reach his peanuts...This bird is also very clever.examination has confirmed that more than 100(!) blue tits consecutively visit the garden ,but we see only a few.most of them stay around a ray of 10 km of there usualy feeding spot.

you recognize it whit the bright blue 'hat', white cheaks and bright yellow belly.

in winter they eat pea nuts (there favorite), seads, fruit, greas, meat and 'trow aways'.oh yeah and ones in a while a coconut too!

this one was just swinging a bit ;o) waiting for me to leave so he could go to the food :D

hope you like it!

Great capture Kirsten!
The bird is very small so I understand it's hard to get a good picture, but I think you did well in this one,but if you wouldn't use digital zoom the picture would have come out much sharpped and much much better!

WellDone!

It is a very nice shot Kirsten when looking at the pose and composition but it is a pity with the noise and the blurr on the bird.

And you did not leave before takning this nice shot. The composition is excellent. You do however have a bit of noise in the BG.

I tried a WS, hope you dont mind. I used Neatimage to remove some noise, then went to PS to clone out some remaining spots, adjusted the levels and ran Neatimage on it again.

Well done and thanks for posting

This little bird swinging brought a smile to my face. He looks so carefree, I love watching birds. The colors are nice and the photo is clear and sharp. I like the ice crystals on the swing. Great shot.

Nice shot, a pity that's so noisy.
TFS.

Now you've found another S5000 problem, noise. Its very annoying and not much you can do about it without some post-processing. Personally I don't like using NeatImage on these kind of shots as it destroys the plumage detail. The only solution is to mask out the background and run a despeckling option in a program like Photoshop. And that's what I have done in the workshop, hope you don't mind. Apart from that its a nice pose and point of view.

With less noice it would have been Great shot.:).But still for compostion as its tough to get these small birds for shoot, you did fantastic job.
Have great Clicking 2005!!!
Hope to see more great shots from you.
Cheers,
Radz

Ook al van die lekkere vogeltjes, kool- en pimpelmeesjes, heerlijk om die in je tuin te hebben. En zoals jij deze op een "schommel" hebt gefotografeerd, heel leuk !

Superb shot Kirsten,
What fantastic composition. It is a shame about the noise in the image.
Fantastic swinging colourful bird, great capture.
Thanks for posting

nog een van de zeldzame keesmusjes
Heel goed Kirsten !!!
Ik zie dat je van Houthalen bent.
Heb je eens geen goesting om samen een foto te nemen om hier op TN te zetten ?
Ik heb een leuk idee voor een pracht foto van Limburg en de oude mijn steek.
Mail maar als je wil .

The pose is very cute, Kirsten. You've succeeded to express all the personality of this acrobatic bird. Even if it's noisy and lacks brilliance (seems you've used the digital zoom to a large extend), the framing is very good and the frozen support adds to the shot.
