Cientific name - Tupinambis merianae - Argentine Black & White Tegu. The Argentine Black & White tegu is also called the giant tegu, as it is the largest tegu in the world (dimensions like a cat). Important too is the fact that our Argentine tegus do not only eat meat as the Colombian tegus do, but also a lot of fruits, vegetables, cat-foods, and breads. I take this photo in Rio de Janeiro, "Bemtevi" track - URCA.
