Oportuno disparo Marco.
Como ha dicho Carper, yo tampoco observé antes una libélula con una presa tan grande.
Buena resolucion y perspectiva, colores bien naturales.
10 puntos!

Opportune shot Marco.
Since there is this Carper, I did not observe before one either libélula with a so great prey.
Good resolution and perspective, natural colors.
10 points!

Hi Marco,
Your ID on this chap is correct, this is indeed a Four-spotted chaser, but I think you've completely misunderstood the *situation* ;-)) I'm pretty sure this is a completely new one, just out of his larvae shell. And the larvae shell is the "skeleton" you've found. Only that same morning this little chap climbed out of the water and onto the straw, where he started worming his way out into the world. The photo shows him in the process of hardening, if you look at his tail, you'll see that the bottom part is now black/yellow, whereas the upper part is still brown/yellow. He's not quite hardened and ready to fly yet.
If you saw many in the same spot, this is good news for you, because if you go back early in the morning you may well get the great experience of actually seeing some emerge ;-)) Oops, just realized the photo was taken back in May.. Well, back to the same spot in May next year, then..

Great macro Marco.
Nice colors and good sharpness.
And I think Bente is right about this.
Well done

Excellent capture! I think Bente has the true story here, the dragonfly is innocent! All the detail is there where it is needed. Well done!

Marco
A real kill is always great to behold, no matter the scale! This is very nice, but I was going to say what Bente did, but she said it better. My memories of this scene is older than 40 years! Well done

Very impressive catch, Marco. Stunning detail and well composed with the main actor(s?) in the upper right two thirds of the frame. Good DOF and colors, too, well done.

Marco - Looking at this shot, your name should be Macro. Gret marco work here with excellent DOF and datail. Well done

The Dragon fly is very deffinatley a Four Spot Chaser (Libellula quadrimaculata)female. The shell in front of it is known as an "Exuvia" and is the shell left behind when the dragonfly larvae crawls out of the water to transform into a dragon fly. Bente has posted a series of shots showing this happening, all that is left behind is the exoskeleton which dries out into what you see here.
The dragon you see here didnt come out of this particular exuvia as she has clear non shinney wings which all frshly emerged (Teneral)do. though this is probabley the Exuvia of the same species, I have no image for this species.
Any way marco very nice image a little short of DOF but still a clear picture.

Great catch with excellent colors and details not to forget the composition .. very good !!!

Very nice capture Marco. I can understand why you thought he was eating - it looks like but Bente and robert are right. The left wings are just dropping out of focus but it is still a very nice picture - well done.

I quote from your note: when we search our world in a Macro way!
Try switching the "r" and the "c" in the word Macro.
That's the secret.
