He must be a liar if his pants are on fire. This is an amazing macro shot with brilliant colours and extraordinary details. The composition is just great and that large green leave that the insect sits on fades so well due to the DOF that it creates a beautiful BG which compliments the grasshopper very well.

Great shot, I like the deails on his legs that form a fish grate motive and seems to be burning from inside. Beautiful contrast with the cool turquoise and green.

You found a great jewel here!!! I try to imagine all our dull grasshoppers here in Quebec looking like this! Incredible vivid colors. But maybe not so useful for the survivance of the species for they are then so visible to grasshoppers-eaters! You got a great pov and managed very well the exposure. Details are great too! Wow Radu, this is one of the most fantastic shots of a grasshooper i've seen so far!!!
(I hope to return to Costa Rica in October, hopefully to get a few nice shots)... but this one... a beauty!!!
