One Small Step

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I believe this is a common garden spider (Araneus diadematus) and due to its small size probably a male. This is the most common spider variety found in the British Isles. This particular one was found in a compost heap.
The photo is taken with a 2x teleconverter at the lens's closest focus and is then cropped by around a third as well. It was a very small spider. |

Hi Andrew,
this is a very nice close-up with nice POV and compostion.
The details are good and the shallow DOF are good, the spider is within focus where it counts and the bg is nicle OOF.
It's some noise in the BG, but thats a minor nit.
Very well done.
Hi Andrew!
Very good shot of this spider. What suprise me in the number of eyes (???) it has... Like the détails, good macro! Thanks,
Claudine
