Now this is exceptional. What a take. You are right about the eyes. If you turn around him you can actually see him turn his head to look at you. Even though they're small those eyes stand out. Paul, this is brilliant, I love 'em spiders. 10 Points.

This is a great capture. The DOF is perfectly placed so that the head is sharp but not the back of his body. It looks like some giant monster spider but the picture with the fly reveals that it is rather small. Happily for us I guess :-)

I love it Paul,
This is really a great shot, the lines in the wood makes a great depth in the composition, the spider is great, the details are wonderfull, very good job you did

Wow, the eyes of this chap 8-) Quite an impressive mug shot of this fellow. DOF on the hind part is slipping, but you placed the available DOF nicely on front end and prey. I think I'd crop a slice of the bottom oof part of the picture, though.

Hey, this is the photo I'm going to take when I grow-up!! The coarse texture of the substrate adds greatly to the overall effective impact of the subject. I've got 6 acres here, I'm going go start turning over some rocks!! If you look close enough you can see the clouds in the spiders eyes!! Now that's macro!!!

Impresionante captura Paul.
La nitidez y resolucion, sobre todo en la mirada de los ojos de mayor tamaño es excelente.
Muy buena perspectiva, oportunismo y presentacion.

Very impressive close-up, Paul, the longer I look at it the more I feel like being stared at ;-) Amazing hairy detail, and also interesting to explore the textural similarities with the wood that it is seen on. The WS scene is very good, too.
Paul, these are cute critters, and very fast. This is a great shot, I like the abdomen that appears to be on another plane owing to the dof. I am sure the compacts have a different dof ratio than the Dsrl's. F13 or smaller should render the abdomen sharp.

All I can say is egads! One ugly fellow! I let one live in my California home, but I never saw him this well. I had an outside door next to the toilet. He hid in the bottom metal door step, popping out if he suspected a morsel. Screams of not joy for unsuspecting people sitting there...... were often heard....

This is very impressive, Paul. Looks so powerful and ferocious. The very close view enhances very well details to understand your note. Even if I'm learning to have indulgence for spiders, due to their interesting behaviours, I still find this one very scary at this size. Great macro!
