This specie lives in Petea Lake, a water ecosistem unique in Romania because of scientific importance due to the three endemic species to be found here: the Termal Water Lily (Nimphaea lotus var. thermalis), the Water Snail (Melanopsis parreyssi) and the Warm Water Rudd (Scardinius erithrophtalmus racovitzai).

Melanopsis parreyssi is an endemic specie who live in this habitat from Pliocen, after the ice age, because of the specific microclimate created by the geothermal spring and water in this region. In Pliocen the subtropical climate and the phisico-chemical conditions of the Petea Lake, much more extended than today, favoured the formation of travertin banks, with a rich fauna of the gasteropods.
The backround is a ventral part of the leaf of Nimphaea lotus var. thermalis, and you can see a few eggs from Melanopsis.

Nymphea lotus thermalis, unique to the region, should be declared the flower of Bihor! Do you have any pictures of it?

A very rare and interesting species you have here, Lucian.
What i like the ost is that you managed to capture both the adult and the spawn in the same frame.
And yes, indeed, Petea lake and its surrounding are a specieal place for biology in general.
