Swainson's Francolin (Francolinus swainsonii) is the only large brown francolin with black-brown legs. Habitat is dry thornveld and agricultural lands in the central and northen regions of South Africa.
They have a similiar red face than the Rednecked Francolin, but the Swainson's have dark legs and black bill. The Rednecked has a red bill and legs.
The photo was taken in the Kruger National Park where they are common. |

very nice, I would brighten the picture and perhaps increase cotrast gently. Ori
