American Bison

These two young lovers were probably less than a week old. Baby bison in Yellowstone are one of the first animals born each spring, with the first ones arriving at the end of April. Most are born during the first two weeks of May. Their coats have a very reddish orange color when they are young, which has earned them the nickname "red dogs". This shot was taken just after the sun had set.

Hi Ryan,
Great capture, a great moment and well composed. The tight crop is perfect IMO, nice detail and good light in the eye. Perfect DOF highlights the subject with no loss of detail on the Bison. And of course very high on the cute scale :-) Great work.
