Ganoderma Applanatum

Thanks to a fellow TrekNature user I was enlightened as to what this beautiful fungis is called.

Generally tree fungus' are wood rotters taking nutrients from the bark and breaking it down.

I captured this photo in Souris Valley near the base of a small tree.

Hi Joshua.
I think this is a Ganoderma applanatum or maybe australe, but almost sure it is a Ganoderma.
I have already posted one HERE with some info about it.
The shot is nice, with great details and good use of DOF. Great lights too. TFS.
