Misty Mountain Flower
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this on the first day we were at Mount Rainier Park, the sky was overcast so no views of the Mountain, but the view from way down here was lovely.
this flower I found around Reflection Lake.
I believe it is a Alpine Aster, (Aster alpigenus)During July and August the lush subalpine meadows of Mount Rainier host a display of flowers unequaled anywhere. Some flowers bloom at the edge of the melting snow pack in late June, while other waits to bloom in August. In these meadows more than 30 flower species provide a rainbow of colors: blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow in a lush green background. Mount Rainier's wildflower meadows are found at elevations between 4,000 and 6,500 feet above sea level throughout the park. |

This is a very cool shot, and you did well on the exposure and DOF. The POV is very good too, but it would have been an even more stunning image had you found a better specimen for your FG shot. This one looks to be past it's prime.
Hello Lori, nice colors, compo and soft atmosphere. We can see the waterdropps of the morning humidity , excellent!!
