What a cool shot. The front legs crossed make an impression of the grasshopper sitting in front of you like an old friend and asking: "So, tell me what's new, buddy". I disagree with Ben, more DOF is not really critical and, besides, not as easy to achieve with a DSLR as it is with a compact camera. Congratulations,

I think that the subject is the face and front legs of the hopper and your shallow DOF emphasizes just that. In my modest opinion, this is an excellent macro shot. Well captured and TFS

Superb macro shot, the composition is excellent and I love the pose with its legs crossed like it is having a rest, the detail on the head is excellent and the colours are nice and natural.

Wow Cacco! This is an excellent macro of the grasshopper's head - I disagree that you need better DOF, because I think the blurred legs in the background add to the shot. Great work!

I really like the POV in this shot, Cacco.
The grasshopper looks like he is crossing his arms and leaning over that plant and watching the world go by.
