Cernei Valley, unique within the Romanian scenery, presents an aspect of wilderness with steep slopes that have differences of level of hundreds of meters.
The attraction point of the Banat Mountain is the National Park Cernei-Domogled Valley, which covers around 24.000 hectares and combines the calcareous structure of the rocks with Mediterranean vegetation. You can find here species unique in Romania (the black pine) and the most beautiful beech species on the continent, and also over 1600 species of butterflies.
Cerna River, that is part of a rich hydrographic network, many springs having miraculous therapeutic properties, crosses Baile Herculane resort, one of the oldest resorts in Europe. |
