Delightful action shot, Paul! I like it.
The take off position is very well captured with the bird's head bent low against the branch. That blur of fluttering wings makes this picture a pleasure to behold.

This is a very nice shot! I like it very much. Yes, it is too bad that the whole wings are not there but it is a really good catch anyway. I like the details you caught and this beautiful pose from the bird, colors and BG. Well done! I tryed to catch some birds too yesterday but the same thing happened to me, they just flew away when I pressed the shutter button :( TFS,

Great shot Paul, when I try this I am usually left with just the branch as an image. Beautiffuly sharp with the wings showing the birds movement well.
