Look carefully - there is an Eagle Owl (Bubo africanus - spotted eagle owl), in there somewhere!
This photo was taken in the late evening as the sun went down and this is one of a pair of these owls which were resident somewhere close to the back of my house.
Every evening we would hear them around the house and over three weeks I made a couple of pictures of them, some like this, some with flash (I have posted one of the pair before).
What I liked about this shot was that it is a nice sunset, and the pattern of the trees impressed me, but if you look hard enough you can see the outline of the eagle owl in the tree as well. The photo has been cropped to remove a bit of the bottom only with no other post processing except resizing for TN.
This was handheld with Image Stabilisation on setting II, the 100-400 set at 400mm.

Hi Phil
Great shot and composition. Great colours, sharpnes and POV.
well done
osse
A very nice sunset background. INteresting silluoettes of the trees. Although u mentioned an eagle owl, in this case, there's no detail but a shade of black, plus it being so small in the picture. Maybe a better title. :)
Good exposure of this picture.

excellent color, good composition. Frankly the owl is visible but pretty irrelevant to the shot.

Hi Phil,
Yes I have seen it,wonderfull compo with great colors apity that the contour of the owl were not a biot bigger, but anyway I like it
Paul
Nice pattern in sunset. Pic would be better without the owl. A owl (even very small) is a plus. In this particular case it is not a plus because its contour is so unclear (personal taste).
Colors and composition are brilliant.

Nice picturel, the red ist great and the composition with the trees are fabulous!!!!!
