[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Saw scaled Viper is known as the phoorsa here locally. This is due to the rasping sound it produces by rubbing its scales against each other when disturbed.
It is higly venemous & a cause for a nos of fatal bites. The venom a haemotoxin, sometimes fatality has been known to ocour after a couple of days as this is a small snake & the amount of venom is small. Its movement is described by many as jumpy ( i have witnessed this myself), some authors also say it moves sideways in sandy desert areas.
Its range is entire Indian plains & extending towards the middle east.
While shooting this i was just out of its strike reach.
Light was poor.
A beautiful specimen

Splendid shot, Badruddin!
The low POV is great and the spot-on focus on that amazing eye is simply excellent!
Lovely natural colors and tones, great exposure management and very nice sharp details complete this very beautiful composition.
Very well done!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Badruddin.
I like your shot so much. Great sharpness and details of the viper, nice and well saturated colours, very good illumination of the viper's head and the whole picture, beautiful BG (colour tones and blurriness) and perfect cropping. TFS and my best wishes.
Alexei.
