[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Out of..the backyard". Here you see the second of the five butterfly species that regularely reproduce in our backyard in Marly, Switzerland. It is the Meadow brown (Satyridae: Maniola jurtina; Ochsenauge; le Myrtil). It sits on Origanum vulgare (Dost; Marjolaine sauvage). I used a ring flash with the macro lens. The slide has been scanned, the pic cropped, sharpened; some background bludges were removed. Enjoy!

Hello Dietrich,
what i like about this pic was the black BG u achieved. Its very nice. But the picture is a bit OE coz of flash. I have posted a workshop for u. Hope u dont mind.

a nice close-up picture with good details.
The subject standout well from the dark BG.
The picture is a bit bright but not OE.
I think you can adjust the levels to improve the contrast.
Well composed, good POV and compostion.

ich habe dieses Jahr zigmal versucht das Ochsenauge zu fotografiern. Es ist kein einziges brauchbares Foto dabei herausgekommen. - Sehr schönes Schmetterlingsfoto! Sehr gut Schärfe, Blickwinkel und natürliche Farben. Sehr gute Bildgestaltung. Danke Dir für diesen schöne Falter.
