Excellent timing here. The shot is very clear and the DOF is excellent. It is interesting that these guys will nest in "condos", as I have never seen the swallows in South Africa do this! Thanks for posting.

Very cute and nearly there, & I don't mean negative. If the condos were a dark colour, you would have les trouble exposing the birds. At the moment, you are fighting a loosing battel with bot B&W in the same frame, the camera meter just cannot cope. There are guys that use incident merering to get their flash exposure right, and I have seen their pics, it works and it is awsome, can let you have the site adress, its in the USA. I love those pumpkin mouths and mourn the missing wing.

This is an exeptional shot. So close. It is not easy to get both parents (one in flight) and the young ones with those lovely yellow beaks open in one frame. You did remarkably well handling the B&W. Perfect DOF. Nice note. Thanx for this, Lesley.

I cann't undedrstand how I missed this one. You did a fantastic job here Lesley. Great sharpness, lots of details in the black plumage and wonderful colours in this action shot and the blur in the wing tips works really well adding some movement to the picture. And they look lovely crying out for food.

Pity about the missing wing, but it's a lovely stop-action capture. I just love those wide open bills, it looks as if there's a three-lane motorway all the way down ;-))
