[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Gaboon Viper (Bitis Gabonica) distribution area
is the tropical African rainforest,it is the largest
of the vipers,up to 1.2 meters, weighing around
7 to 10kg,With fangs of almost 5.1cm (2 inches)it has
the largest fangs of any snake in the world, this one
was PHOTOGRAPHED IN A ZOO REPTILE HOUSE,kneeling down to get an eye level veiw point and using a 100mm macro
lens plus a small amount of fill flash, The snake
suddenly opened its jaws and I took the picture not
knowing if the nose of the snake had gone out of frame,
when I recieved the slides I was pleased to see that
everything was in frame, but only just. The shot was
originally taken on slide film and scanned to Digital.

Je suis étonné de ne pas voir d'autres remarque à propos de cette photo.
Le cadrage est très bien et la photo est impressionnante.
Bravo. ;)

Excellent shot. Hard to achieve such result.
How could you safely get so closed? Is it in a zoo through a glass? Is it a wild one captured and hold. Is it a free one in nature?
Very interesting to look at the fangs. Note is very informative too.
