As I was told while I was making the shot, these are "azulejos", which I thought were "blue jays", but American blue jays look different, so I'm looking for more information to complete this note.
I saw them in the middle of the city while walking to the Parque del Este. Initially, there were about 15 sitting there, but in the time it took me to take my camera out and shoot, only a few were left. I used my zoom. I cropped the picture, increased gamma and resized to meet TN specs. |

Hi Yvonne,
This is a Thraupis tanager. Four range in Venezuela, but the only possible confusion species with this would be Thraupis glaucocolpa which this isn't. So, this is Blue-grey Tanager (Thraupis episcopus cana).

Una vez esclarecido el ID correcto de los pájaros, ya sabemos que nuestros Azulejos no son Blue-Jays sino Blue-grey tanager...
Que suerte tuviste de poder captar a 3 de ellos juntos, a pesar de que habían muchos mas, pero al menos nos queda esta imagen.
Nos podemos hacer una muy buena idea de como es el pájaro gracias a las poses diferentes de cada uno de ellos, donde podemos apreciar el hermoso color azul intenso de sus alas.
Es muy difícil fotografiar contra un fondo tan iluminado como este, -por los intensos puntos de luz-, ya que tiende a competir un poco con el sujeto principal, que son los 3 pájaros del primer plano.
