This is a splendid capture...both yours and the damselfly's ;)
The side POV is really great here and gives a good insight of the meal of the damsel, too.
I really like the rather shallow DOF here, that completly isolated the subject(s) here from the BG, blurring it totally and giving it a nice, monochromatic look.
The details are impeccably clear and sharp, the natural colors are lovely and very wel saturated and the lighting is excellent.
I think you did well to crop from the original...this way all the attention is cocentrated on the feeding of the damsel :)

Munch, munch, what an appetising meal for such a flamboyant little damselfly.

While it is always nice to see either the complete insect or just a portrait of one I think you actually did well with this POV and composition. The old question of where to cut or crop obviously played a major role in your taking and optimisation of this photo. As said, I think your discretion work well. It is clear that the lady is a hunter and she got what she wanted.

The colours are splendid and correctly saturated. All the details are clear and well defined. The BG is superb and utterly pleasing on the eye and the exposure sure took neat control of the available lighting.

Hello Monika, great shot of the damsel eating a bug...I'm not sure what the bug is either but you are correct with the specific information on the damsel but this is no lady, it's a boy :-) You can tell as the sexual organs are visible on the underside of the second segment of the abdomen.

The photo is well composed and the details look fine. I wonder again if there is a bit of a yellow cast?

The damselfly is obviously enjoying its meal and you have captured it in your usual immaculate way, Monika.
When it comes to technicalities involved in a macro shot, you set very high standards in your pictures. Something to emulate and not be just envious about.
The two-tone BG is just perfect.

This is a good capture of this insect eating another. Before being a member here I was sure that Damselflies were vegetarians :-) I never thought that they could eat insects too. I love this close crop and those excellent details, colors and composition. This is a very one! Thanks,

Clear , razor sharp and well captured macro Monika with intense colors, very contrasted on the diffuse bottom of the scene.
I like the details that stand out of the insect and their prey with interesting point of view and well framed.

I like a lot details got on the insect, their wing's structure and color saturation.
Composition is a very good one, I like the vertical branch and the pose and crop of the insect to construct it.

Your shot certainly tolerated a closer crop to produce this fine close macro. It is sharp and well presented and you are right to think that this is a female. The meal will have to remain a mystery but looks like some species of hoverfly.

I add my praise here. As for the prey, according to my lights it could be a homopteran, but definitely not a fly. I guess it's a member of the Jassidae family (->hindleg bristles and the long green wings in rooflike position), Thamnotettix or Elymana?
EWWhatever, the high uality shot remains.
