[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was working at my desk, when someone came in and said “you gota see this, bring your camera” So I did and was ah struck to see this comet with a huge tail chasing the sun after a Patagonia sunset.

Post processing included noise reduction.

Hello Dean,
This is an awesome capture of this phenomenon of nature!
Very good exposure of the the tail, where the curvy line tells about the dynamics in space...
Well composed with good details, wise to include some ground to give a frame of reference!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I'm green with envy :) - For people in the northern hemisphere we only managed to get a glimpse of it at sunset... nothing as spectecular as in this photo!

The thin streaks of horizontal clouds gives this photo an even more interesting perspective.

Bonjour Dean,
Belle prise de vue de cette comète ! Bien vu et bien fait. Merci.
Gérard

Hi Dean,

You lucky guy! I tried to captured it my self here last week in Canada but at sunset the weather was always bad.

Excellent capture and well framed. Good workshop in NeatImage, makes miracles. I would have tried to keep the upper trail end of it in the picture but it still looks very good. The fact that this comet was observable at sunset only realy helps with a fine and colorful composition. TFS.

PC :)

Hi Dean,
your picture is sure out of this world.I'm glad that you took it,I knew about this comet but never even got to see it,so thank you for posting it.I have tried night time shots and have had some success, but most of my pictures have flaws.Your cropping works very well for this image,I find no fault of any kind with your image-well done. Hi Dean,

I just wrote at another picture of McNaught, that it's really each photographers dream to see and feel such a moment. With this beautiful sky and your choice of angle, it's one of the Best Photos I've ever seen. Congratulations and thanks a lot for sharing thie great moment!!!

Great work. I saw this from Australia, but it was between clouds and never good enough to get any decent sort of shot.
This is a spectacular shot and thanks for sharing it on TN

Awesome! Plaib and simple! TFS! Jay

PS I especially like the original!
Good to see both! Close-up included.

Also "Themed"

That's incredible!!!!! I can't even get a good shot of the mooon. ha ha
Beautiful - absolutely beautiful!
I think sometimes people don't realize how difficult astrophotography is.

Wow what an excellent capture. To turned on your camera and get your settings set for such a difficult shot must have been hectic. The shot is just beautiful.
