There is many beautiful jewels in the world, but I'm quite sure that the most beautiful is the one called ICE.

Yes, simply frozen water. What can be beautiful in that?
I can assure you that they are amazing. Every single ice crystal is different. Look at the snow flakes, it is said that finding two identic ones is impossible.
But ice crystals are not only flakes. The amount of shapes they can have is really astonishing.

And the most great think about ice crystals is the fact they are so fragile and so perishable. I think this is what makes them so special.

I really invite you to visit very nice site "Snowcrystals" .
You can find there amazing macros of tiny ice formation and almost all you want to know about them :-)

On my photo you can see something I called Crystal islands. I found them on the frozen surface of our river. This is very lazy river and in witer it is very often covered with ice, but this kind of formation I saw first time.
Though the photo isn't very sharp I think you can see some details.
One more thing: this are two photos, but the place of the junction is hardly seen. I decided not to put there any visible line or frame, couse I think the photos look much more interesting without it.
The lower photo is a kind of close up, but I had problems with focus. You know, I had to stand on frozen surface and the layer of ice was quite thin (that's why it's so dark, thick ice has usually white colour). So I wanted to take photos quick and the result is bad focus. But I hope you will foregive me that once more ;-)

Looks like we send similiar posts today :-) I like DOF and composition on yours. Also crystal islands looks very fragile and beautiful. Nice work Monika!

I like your crystal-like formations here Monika. So this is what ice does - change into these beautiful (piekny) shapes? Wonderful. Your notes are excellent, thank you. And your 2 photos are joined very well, you can't tell that it is so. Good job!

These crystal islands are amazing Monika. The way you've joined the photos works very well. I never would have known it was 2 photos.
Did you see my post called 'Crystal Island' ? It was taken in a limestone cave at Waitomo in New Zealand.
The crystals looked a little yellow in my photo, but they were actually pure white calcite.

Grunt dobrypomysł. To też natura i fajnie pokazana. Ten białoczarny kontrast przyci±ga uwagę. Ładny opis.

Interesting Monika looking at your gallery how you pick out the little details of nature. These ice crystals do look amazing and have wonderful formations. Do you use your camcorder like a camera with single shot?

I love making short movies of various themes which until recently I streamed on the web I have since took them off. The camcorder is still a big and enjoyable part of my photography...well done.

This is great Monika, I have not seen anything like this before. I love the structure of the iceberg and the perspective is great. Think about cropping off the very top where it is very bright?

Well done.

Very artful Monika,
I like this shot a lot, the composition is well taken and the point of view is very good, there is a nice depth in the shot, Very good job

Monika, another original shot coming from you. The composition is very beautiful, the frame works well (I still don't know how to deal with them well, although I like them).

Good note too - once more.
