California brown pelican (P. o. californicus) at Bolsa Chica Wetlands.

From Wikipedia: The Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) is the smallest member of the seven species of the pelican family. It lives strictly on coasts from Washington and Virginia to the mouth of the Amazon River. This bird is distinguished from the American White Pelican by its brown body and its habit of diving for fish from the air, as opposed to co-operative fishing from the surface.

Hi Ken

An unusual pose from this Pelican. He looks a little awkward. Nice work. TFS.

What a pose. Very unic. Full of dynamism. You can feel the interest from this guys towards the fish fellows below.

Interesting position and composition. Good details. Bravo. Best regards, Cezar T.

I adore the position of the bird. Perfectly parallel with the fence. And he looks like he might just drop off.

Great detail and POV. Very fun shot.
