Lifting shore
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Finnish coastline is still lifting from the Baltic Sea after the latest Ice Age. In the area, where the photo was taken, the uplift is about 6 millimeters per year. New land is being formed all the time, so the succession of plants is continuous on the shores. The first tree species that can take root on the lifting land and tolerates the salty water, is Common Alder (Alnus glutinosa). |

Vey peaceful place!
Nice point of view!
Bye Tom
This is a wonderful composition Pentti with those nice curves. You managed great depth of field and the colors are lovely and well saturated. At 6mm a year it may have difficulty keeping up with rising sea levels due to global warming????? It is a beautiful photograph. TFS
