Barbary Nut (Gynandriris sisyrinchium). Its short-lived flowers open at midday and wither in the evening. It is a very common iris that grows also in the desert.

Hello Pentti,
I think I may have seen the same Iris in the south of Spain - suddenly one day there were masses in bloom and then they were all gone the following day. Quite amazing! Your shot is very beautiful, the blue colour really stands out. Sharp details and very nice colours surrounding the blue.
TFS and regards, Ulla
Bonjour,
Salutations,
Hervé
