I have a true fascination with reptiles (as well as all other creatures) But because they are so different to other animals curiosity gets the better of me!
This is a Bearded Dragon Pogona barbata. Many people call him a frilly, but I personally believe that should only be used to describe the frilled neck lizard.
My colleagues and I were identifying and taping frog calls, when I came upon this fully grown lizard. (about 75cm in length including the tail)
For those who don't know there defence mechanism is to puff themselves up and show off there bright yellow mouth when disturbed. Thankfully I did not disturb this one. |
