Hi Yoram,
A lot of drama here!
Good timing in catching this moment, of great impact.
You got a very good composition and exposure despite the brief moments available to shot. My congratulations for this and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

What a terrific capture. I'm really impressed.
The bushbuck looks still alive.
Rare scene, very clearly shown.
Light, colors, POV, composition are all excellent.
I'm under the impression that you did use neatimage or the like (in opposite to what said PSV), as background is soft everywhere exept under the neck, under the tummy and along the necks and along hyena's back. I would prefer that the 1000ASA effect is corrected on the whole background or not at all. This is a small nit and it is hard to spot. This remains the best pic of the month (maybe of the year) on TN.

Hello Yoram!
Very dramatic picture but also very good from the documentary point of view :)
I like the composition and DOF. Only the small noise reduction would be nice :)
Greetings from place where no hyenas occur ;)

A great moment for hyena and photographer.
Hello Yoram
Superb capture of this action shot. The background seems somewhat noisy as others have observed and I posted a WS to reduce just the background noise.

Hello Yoram,
Congratulations for this great capture! This is a real "National Geographic" photo! It might look a bit cruel but this is a scene of the daily life in Africa.
I like the way you composed the picture and the angle from which you shot was also excellent. The nice, blurred background is perfect for showing the hyena's very expressive silhouette against it. I appreciate the hyena's eye was not covered by the bushbuck's ear. Another important thing is that you framed a single hyena, not an entire pack. There are no distracting objects in your shot and this helps convey the ideea.
It's useless to talk about exposure and camera work since the image speaks for itself. You captured a unique moment with great skill! Thank you!
With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Magic shot Yoram, just stunning action.
Its hard to watch this kind of wildlife action, but that's nature, brutal.
Well done, its a really stunning shot, great angle, excellent light, mood, composition and sharpness. 10/10

Amazing image showing the struggle between life and death. Could be hard to look at if your squemish but this is the real world and you've done a great job in showing us both the pain of the deer and triumph of the hyena.
Well captured. TFS (out of points, back tomorrow)

Hi Yoram
This is really a terrific picture!
WOW! What an impeccable timing! The pose of the hyena is tupical and the look on the face of the prey simply says it all!
Superb side POV and fantastic sharpness (considerring the distance).
Also the natural colors are lovely and the exposure is spot-on.
Another great work of yours!
Bravo and TFS

Hello Yoram,
This is an amazing capture, the one that we don't even dream of indeed but you were there at the right time and ready. This is a very strong image a little hard to look at but this is nature's way. The expression on the dying animal is a look that stays in mind, the look of fear and suffering. Wow... This must have been an impressive moment to live. Hyenas are so strange animals to me. This is a very strong post well composed and exposed. The action here is the crucial point. Thanks,
Claudine

Terrific and graphic nature-in-action shot Yoram. This picture is worth a thousand words :)
Even at ISO 1000, the noise is well under control.
Very well done.

And did you eat breakfast that morning?? Great decisive moment. This is a perfect example of how the drama of the still image can sometimes surpass the moving image, even in this digital age. The frozen moment preserves what might otherwise be lost on us. Bravo!!
