Hello David,
You should be happy with this new lens and with this beautiful picture, wow! This is a very nice and rare capture. Colors, details, exposure and lightning are just great! I love this light it its eye a lot and this beautiful blue sky! This is very well done! I wish I have such a nice picture of a raptor too :) Thanks,

Hi David,

Nice capture with the new lens, I have owned it for over a month now and think it's superb.
The detail is nice and sharp here with nice light on top of the bird. However, due to this light there is the dark shadow under the bird which isn't ideal.

Hello David,
Fine capture of a Kestrel in a sharp and well composed presentation with a fine sky BG. Even though you used the max focal length you must have been able to come close to be able to produce such a sharp and detailed image.
