Terrific photo, Andrea. I love the 3-D effect that the stark contrast has created. Great sharpness and detail, as well as exposure control in a tough setting. Very well done.

Hi Andrea

Wow, a stunning capture of this beautiful gull MF. As you mentioned, the OOF and darkish BG created an amazing and very complimentary contrast with the brighter bird. But, you also managed to freeze the bird in spectacular fashion in mid-flight glory due to the impressive 1/5000 shutter speed. This was of cause aided by the ISO 400 selection and it is pleasing (maybe even surprising) to see very little (insignificant) noise as a result.

The composition is great with good measures applied to the degree of cropping. The colours are well defined and the details are sharp and amazingly crisp for this type of airborne photography. The exposure was well managed with no evidence of OE on the white plumage.
