[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ruddy Shelduck Tadorna ferruginea

Ruddy Shelducks, with their almost orange-coloured bodies fading to almost white on their heads, look completely different from all other European wildfowl. In flight the startlingly neat black and white wing pattern is also characteristic although there is a chance of confusion with Egyptian Goose, a species which now has feral breeding populations in parts of England, Holland and Belgium. The goose, however, is slightly bigger and paler-bodied.

Breeds and winters beside coastal lakes and deltas and also on inland lakes, rivers and marshes on high-altitude plateaux.

Cropped and added a little sparkle to the eye.
Photographed at the Arundel Wildlife and Wetland Centre.

Lovely close up Michael, the water droplets are excllent and a nice BG. The eye looks a tad soft...but otherwise a super shot. Well done.

Excellent capture, very good colours and sharpness, the little water drops are making this portrait very special.
