| Today I offer up Magpie in the Mud.This so far has been the only time I have ever seen a magpie walking through mud in our local bird sanctuary and as you can see this bird is being careful not to get its long tail feathers wet.Mucky tail feathers could prove to be fatal if the bird couldn't fly away in the event of a predator attack. It was far enough away from me that I did not see just what it was eating but it sure was getting plenty to eat.The colour of this shot is true even though it looks over saturated. The photo was cropped and resized using Paint.Net. I hope you don't mind dirty pictures. Bob |

Unusal capture, I love it... reminds me of a victorian lady lifting the hem of her skirts as she steps off the curb into a sloppy street.
Maybe you could have moved the magpie a bit more off center? Too bad that the focus is not quite sharp enough. Still an interesting moment captured, though. TFS
Another colourful magpie! Good point abt the bird's smarts!
I fooled around with a WS for you Bob; see what you think.
Key objective is to remove some of the debris that is not necessary and to zoom in. Tfs, Jay.
Bob,
Dirty or not its a GREAT register.
It was probably eating worms.
Mish Maggs is right about:"Unusal capture, I love it... reminds me of a victorian lady lifting the hem of her skirts as she steps off the curb into a sloppy street".
Great POV and DOF.
Congratulations. Its an OUTSTANDING photo notwithstanding the "dirt". Ha ha ha.!!!
