[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I used a monopod for the first time to get this portrait. I was sitting just 2,5 meters away from this lovely bird, and I had to change the autofocus from the normal mode to be able to get a sharp picture.

In this flock of Longtailed tits there is one individual that is more brave (or maybe more careless) so while the other ones are waiting in the treetops for me to disapear, this fellow goes with the Blue tits. guess that this individuallity is a part of the evolution...

So if I sit very still with my face behind the camera they get as close as 1 meter from my head.

The only problem is when the IS starts in my 300/f4 L IS USM lens, most of them get's scared away. But if you press the shutter halfway all the time the IS is working all the time, and I was able to get this close.

I took this in raw-format and used Adobe Lightroom for some adjustments before the edit in Photoshop CS3 beta

This is not a bird I have seen before.
You did well to get such a close up shot of it.

I think I can honestly say, I have never seen a long tailed tit so close up before and mine can get to within 3 meters of my window. Mine love peanuts for some reason!

Great shot with good exposure and control and the notes just add to it as well. You did really well here

What a great close shot of the little Long-tailed Tit! You are lucky to have it coming to feed in your garden, that surely isn't that common. As you say they tend to stay together in small parties. Nice profile showing superb sharp details of eye, beak and plumage and nice colours. Pity about the net, but that's life!

This is a remarkable close shot of a Long-tailed Tit.
The detail of the head showing the yellow Eyelid is excellent and the composition is good too against a blue sky.
You were lucky to have sunshine where you are in Scania it was overcast as usual bu the sun came out today!

Good details, nice colour and pOV, maybe some parts are slightly OE. Nevertheless a nice picture.

You must have very shy long-tits, upp here the are nit shy, I can touch them when I feeding them.

I think this is the firs time I saw a so close approach of this bird.
Details got are so razorsharp and clear.
It's very good the texture skin around the eye.
I like the compostioin made.

Such a cute bird. I do not recognize it. Probably because I am nearsighted and only recognize swans, seagulls and such. Vad heter birdien på svenska??
