 3rds | Aramok

Torbjorn
I haven't quite managed to pull the mountains to the top horizontal 3rds line but it is closer that it was. I have only done this to explain my comment, not as a critical WS... it is just something I feel your photos would benefit from a little more which may assist you with your photography becuase most people on TN are here to learn and it is somethine I went through when I started on TN as well. so not as a critism only a suggestion.

Brightness, Saturation and Cropping | Aramok
(4885) [2007-01-21 16:00:07] | Paul
I hope you don't mind, I have had a little play. I have darkened the whole picture by dropping the brightness and then selecting teh sky and dropping the brightness for it alone a touch more. I have then increased the saturation very slightly - dropping the brightness has this effect as well, so only a very slight change was needed. i have cropped a little of the sky our and then just sharpened it a touch... |

Albino Common Spotted Orchid (36) Aramok
(4885) |
 none | Aramok
(4885) [2006-11-21 09:28:30] | | Just a quick picture to show the first albino I saw against another common spotted orchid. As you can see it is much smaller and there will be more flowers to come on the 'standard orchid where as the albino is in full flower. This particular pair were actually alongside a toilet block and I got some very odd looks taking this photo! |

 colour space profile | Aramok
(4885) [2006-11-05 15:50:13] [2] | | I haven't actually editted this image other than to attached an sRGB colour space profile to it to run a test for Scott. This is the file he emailed me which I have resaved - no changes made - to confirm a theory.... |

 brightness and contrast | Aramok
(4885) [2006-10-30 08:06:05] [4] | I've selected by hand certain areas of the rocks and with a feathering of 10 pixels increased the brightness and decreased the contast in the shadows and darker side of the rocks to bring out a little more detail and decreased the brightness and increased the contrast in the brighter parts of the foreground rocks.
I also straightened the picture a touch becuase all of the trees seemed to have a significant lean on them (this may actually be the case - I can imagine this being a wind swept area), but the photo just seemed to beneift from a slight rotation.
I have also increased the contrast in the main mountainside and decreased it in the smaller mounatin... again with a feathering effect on 10 pixels so that the 'join' can't be seen. then just added a little more saturation and ran an unsharp mask - about 10 mins work in total.
Normally everything but the unsharp mask would be done on the full size picture with a feathering of upto 200 pixels...
Hope you don't mind Mike
